The food is definitely top notch with a good selection. Tried the chicken tikka wrap and a few other chicken dishes which were great. Also tried the chilli chips which were delicious. The restaurant is well decorated and the ambience is also nice which is complimented by the open kitchen. Free parking available on site but could get filled up on busy days.
Okay.. so my family went to Derby on a day out and we just stumbled across this restaurant online when we searched for grills... I can confidently say they serve the best biryani I have ever had. The signature grill was fantastic. Flavourful and delicious. You can tell the food was freshly made. Absolutely fantastic customer service by Ash that attended to us. Definitely coming back here.
Wonderful evening out celebrating a family birthday. Food was perfect without being overly spiced for the younger ones, nice ambience and delectable cocktails made for a memorable meal. Will definitely be back!
I visited Hen & Chickens in Derby with two friends and had a great dining experience. The mixed grill was flavorful and well-cooked, offering generous portions at reasonable prices. The decor was brand new and looked good, though the separation between the pub and restaurant could be clearer. The service was friendly and efficient, with waiters who knew the menu well, which is always a plus. Everything was very clean. Despite tricky parking and a busy atmosphere, which speaks to its popularity, the food arrived promptly, and we didn't feel rushed. We came here for lunch with the family over the weekend. We asked for a nice table as it was a celebration and we got the round booth which was a really nice table and gave us some privacy. Which was a really nice touch by the restaurant. The place looks amazing and the staff were friendly and attentive. The manager was approachable and told us a bit of the history of H&C and the decor. We had a great meal the food was fantastic and would recommend it to anyone but would advise to book in ahead. As we tried previously to get a table and it was full. There is plenty of parking out side or there is street parking also.
A great place done up nicely, the food was good and quantities good. (Had a take away) Starters were nice and full of flavour Lollipop chicken was very good Mains fish curry could have had a bit more spice but was flavoursome The lamb was good with a good amount of lamb pieces a little over powering with mustard seeds but tasted good. Was a little difficult to find parking but there is street parking. Overall venue looks great and will visit again to dine in.
My friend and I recently visited this place for a catch-up, and it was an absolute treat! The food was delicious and the bar/restaurant had a lovely ambiance. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the service was spot-on. I highly recommend it! They had a sneaky bonus of blue light discount, which was a lovely touch. 1st time visit to HC bar & Grill Super service by Nav. Very attentive pleasant and polite. Service with smile and was asked several times if all was well. Highly rated lovely atmosphere. Had keema and naan mains along with mango lassi which was spot on. For desserts had pistachio ice cream well woth a visit. I'll defo visit here again
